Announcing CosmWasm Testnet on BitSong

It is with great pleasure that we announce the launch of the new BitSong public Testnet. Specifically, the adoption of CosmWasm will help the onboarding of new CosmWasm Developers and the increase of Music Dapps developed on BitSong.

💥CosmWasm

As many of you already know, CosmWasm is a smart contracting platform built for the Cosmos ecosystem. CosmWasm is written as a module that can plug into the Cosmos SDK. This means that anyone currently building a blockchain using the Cosmos SDK can quickly and easily add CosmWasm smart contracting support to their chain, without adjusting existing logic.

Rust is currently the most used programming language for CosmWasm, in the future, it is possible to have different programming languages like AssemblyScript

🎯Choice reasons

Using Smart Contracts within BitSong helps new developers collaborate in building a decentralized music ecosystem. BitSong is at first a music ecosystem, and our intent is to offer new use cases using smart contracts within music projects.

🆒DApps

With this testnet we announce a Call for Developers, which is a contest where different developers will propose dapps to be included within the BitSong ecosystem.

The first two dapps we would like to include are:
- FanToken DEX (smart contract to be used for Sinfonia.
- DAO for FanTokens.

We also invite as many developers as possible to suggest and implement new smart contracts to be adopted in a music ecosystem, for example:

👉 Reward system for music players
👉 Loyalty programs system for FanTokens
👉 Fan engagement
👉 Distribution of music releases as NFTs

💸Incentives

There is an incentive of $10,000 USDC for this testnet to be distributed to developers only after careful evaluation by the jury. At the end of the testnet it will be possible to publish the smart contract in the mainnet.

Due to the continuous updates that may be forthcoming, validator nodes are not currently incentivized.

⏰Duration

The testnet will end on November 30, 2022, incentives will be sent out in December.
